The final City of Coal Run Village commissioner was sworn in Dec. 17. Trey Deskins was sworn in for his second term by his father, former State Representative Herbie Deskins. Trey Deskins said it was an honor to have his father administer the oath of office. “I grew up watching my father take many oaths of office while my mother witnessed,” Commissioner Deskins said. “But to have them both administer and witness me taking that same oath was truly a special moment.” The other members of the commission were sworn in on Dec. 10.
